It is 10:54 AM on a Monday morning and I'm literally laying on the sand letting the sun hit my back and dry me off following a sand scrub body treatment and a refreshing plunge into the Atlantic ocean. You're probably wondering what the heck this has to do with women, our topic of the month, but actually it has everything to do with women. Like the infamous Atlantic waters, women have so much depth, bring so much joy and warmth to people everywhere and exhibit a level of strength and power, unlike anything I've ever bore witness to.
When I think back to some of the most joyous occasions in my existence, they've all been centered around women, and no I'm not talking solely about sexual experiences, but those definitely rank high too.
I'm talking having dinner with my wife in Prague, laughing with my mother about her ex-husband, watching the French Open with my grandmother at her bedside, talking to my mother in law about my desire to have a sofa made, going on road trips with my cousins as a pre-teen, eating Thanksgiving dinner with my great aunts, starting a business with my best friend at the time, arguing with my wife about designing our home and a host of other amazing experiences that were it not for women, would not have been nearly as life-changing or impactful, not just to me, but to the many people who I would later encounter and pass on the lessons I learned from those experiences.
Just to be crystal fucking clear, I, Gilbert Chrispin, believe the term woman can apply to a human who is agender, bigender, cisgender, gender fluid, genderqueer, intersex, gender variant, Mx., thirdgender, transgender or two-spirit.
Come back Thursday, October 3, for "Women. Part 2."
