Seoul Has More Style Than the U.S.

I’m not sure how I did not know this fun fact (ok, my opinion), but Seoul is one of the most stylish places I have ever had the pleasure to visit. There is a sophistication to everyone’s look that I love.

We reached Seoul after a 12 hour flight to Singapore and a layover in Kuala Lumpur. It was the morning, I think, but really who knows? The days smashed against each other by that point and all three of us were living on fumes, good food and excitement. Gil, Mom Pam and I traveled for a little over three weeks to Asia. We went to Zurich then Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo and Kyoto.

Seoul was vibrant, easy to travel, fun to look up and look around. Our first stop once we dropped off our bags at Orakai Insadong Suites was this tucked away Korean BBQ place where we met the sweetest man. He showed us how to eat at a proper Korean BBQ restaurant. The beef was the most tender, delicious piece of meat I have ever had in my life. The remainder of our 3rd stop was filled with public transportation, 600 year old palaces, Deoksugung Palace and style for the GAWDDSS!!!

We went to Seoul’s World Trade Center. It was stunning. Check the photos below.

More than anything, I loved the style.

  1. There was a simple grace to Seoul.

  2. The men’s shoe size did not go above 9 ½. It was hilarious to see Gil ask every shoe store if they carried a size 13 shoe. “Nah, Family. We don’t go that high.” #teehee

  3. The shops were simple and unique all at the same time. Anyone who knows me knows my undying love for jewelry. There was no shortage of necklaces, but the cost was beyond my budget.

I traveled to far off lands because to travel is to truly see what a significant AND insignificant role you have in the world. You can see the meaning of it all, but not really get what any of it means.

You also eat delicious foods in places like Seoul. In this stunning city in South Korea, I was reminded of how important it is to be yourself, see the world and dress like you mean that shit.
